When this quiz appeared on YDR Facebook and my own Facebook page, we learned what should have been obvious. York County has been home to a lot of Haineses and many of that name have been prominent for decades. So we received connections to Mahlon of Shoe House fame and Lynn of the Lincoln Highway Garage, among others. This Harry Haines, though maybe related, gained success in both business – and government. And this Harry Haines, however prominent, was outpaced in popularity by his son.
